Hi Lucas:

I am wiring up my Digiflight II VSGV with the auto trim module and also a Governor MkIII trim relay and speed control. I see on page 1 of the Auto Trim Manual that you require the auto trim to connect on the motor side of the relay (pins 9 & 10). I have included a scan of the Governor wiring diagram and you will note where I think pins 9 & 10 tie into this diagram. Is that correct? Also I see that pins 8 & 11 are supposed to run to the trim switch. In my case what do I do with these pins? Where would they tie into the Governor diagram or don't they??

Many thanks

Doug,

The autotrim wiring is simpler than it seems. You have it correct on your drawing. You're going to cut the two white wires running to the trim servo. The motor side of your cut will go to 9 & 10. The governor side of your cut will go to 8 & 11 respectively. That's all there is to it. Thanks!

Hi Lucas:

I ***ume you are saying that 8 and 11 tie into 2 of the 4 wires (black, blue, yellow, or green) on the "north" side of the Governor diagram. Which two wires? Or am I totally confused (probably!)

:) I'm going with door number 2. You're confused. :P All four inputs on the autotrim are the white wires. You're simply splicing the autotrim module into the white wires. There's an internal relay that shuts off all control on the "north" side of the autotrim when it's active. So your trim switch is always actively sending signals to the Governor, but the autotrim just breaks the connection between your switch/Governor ***embly and the motor. When the autotrim is disengaged, the relay closes and makes the connection again.

I hope this is clear as mud. :) Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

And door #2 wins!! I think I have it now. The white wires are "cut" such that one end (pin 11) goes into the auto trim box and comes out at pin 10 and 8 goes in and out at 9 (or something like that) Or maybe it is the other way around but I see how to do it now. If my thinking is wrong, just let me know.

Many thanks!!
